This was one of our weekday projects, taking place on Tuesday, 2/22/00. We never know what to expect for a turnout at these weekday projects, or, as far as that goes, at the weekend projects either, but with the help of the USFS, the class of Kathy Counts from the Kane Area School District, and the unsung hero's of many of our projects, the "Crew" and their supervisors from FCI McKean, we completed the project in good time and in great weather. The temperature climbed to 40+ degrees and those of us on the shoreline were able to be in the sun for the duration.

Here, we have 2-3 groups getting those trees tied down and secured, everybody doing a different job. Pictured L-R are Matt Edmiston, Guy Waldman, Billy Sewell, I'm not sure who this is, Terry Koehler, and Merle Caldwell. Matt and Billy are students of Kathy Counts.
Here, Nancy Rudolph, left, of the USFS and Kathy Counts from the Kane Area School District, have been working together clamping the cables holding everything together.
Here's Billy Sewell helping with a reef. These students are hard workers and projects such as these benefit greatly from their participation.
This photo is shot from the other side of the lake, on the Longhouse Scenic Drive, of the just completed project.
An added bonus! With the sun shining and the weather warm, the woods were full of deer.
All in all, another great day in the Allegheny National Forest.
