Kinzua- electrofishing Results and Habitat Improvements

I received this information from Brent Pence, Fisheries Biologist with the Allegheny National Forest. The following documents contain electrofishing data for 1998 through 2000. They also contain Fish Habitat Improvements in the Allegheny Reservoir from 1991 through 2001.

All of this habitat has been constructed and set in place by the Kinzua Fish & Wildlife Association in partnership with personnel  from the Allegheny National Forest, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kinzua Dam, our habitat partners from New York state, and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.  In addition, local boy scout groups have completed several projects.

For links to any of the above organizations, click here.

Some of the abbreviations you will be seeing are;

YOY= young-of-year

CPUE=*Catch Per Unit of Effort - The number of fish caught in one hour of sampling. If sampling for periods less than one hour, the actual number of fish caught is projected to a one hour sampling rate. For example, 10 fish caught in 20 minutes (1/3 hour) yields a CPUE of 30.
